At Mama’s Butterfly Farm, every butterfly is raised right here on our family farm in Whitwell, Tennessee. What started as a shared love of butterflies between a mother and daughter grew into a small farm dedicated to helping others create meaningful moments.

Many butterfly companies ship from large commercial breeders. Ours are different.
The butterflies at Mama's Butterfly Farm are raised right here on the farm, carefully nurtured from egg to chrysalis until they emerge ready to fly.

Planning a butterfly release is simple. We'll help guide you through every step.

Choose Your Event Date
Butterflies are typically available from late April through October. For the best experience, releases happen on warm sunny days.

Select Your Quantity
Choose the number of butterflies that fits your event. Releases are available from 12 up to 250 butterflies.

Delivery or Nationwide Shipping
If you're within 100 miles of Whitwell, Tennessee, we can deliver. Otherwise, they can be overnight shipped to 36 permitted states.

Because butterflies are raised on the farm, we recommend ordering a few weeks in advance for smaller releases and about a month ahead for larger events.

Butterflies are typically released in Tennessee from late April through October when temperatures allow them to fly naturally.
For the best experience:

Temperatures between 65° and 80°F allow butterflies to fly naturally.

Sunny conditions help ensure the butterflies fly beautifully and naturally.
